In 2008 I went into a clothing store to buy a new pair of jeans. The pants I would have needed to buy were yet another size larger, reading a whopping size 22. I decided then and there that I had enough and was tired of the way I was growing. So, I left the store with the too tight pants that I was wearing and the determination to change.
A friend told me about healthy living website. I timidly began my weight loss (beginning of August 2008) journey on the website without a clear idea of how to succeed. I had been on diets before, and had been told to do this, or this, and not this to get me where I wanted to be. I discovered many myths and truths to some of what I had been told. I had a hard time believing in myself at this point, or even believing that I was meant to be skinny. I truly felt I was destined to be fat forever. I didn’t do so well.
2008 summer vacation one year before I started my weight loss journey. 2011 I’m 120 pounds down
In February of 2009 I moved, yet again. This time I was stuck in a place where I didn’t have much to do, or places to go, so I would hop onto SparkPeople daily. I got to know the site really well. I read the articles. I read the blogs. I read the message boards. During this time something clicked and I found my determination again. However, this time it felt different. I felt as though I had a family to depend on, a support team, and confidants. Since that time I have lost 120 pounds (all without pills, “going on a diet”, or buying any expensive exercise equipment).
It definitely has not been easy. I have had more than enough struggles, but I made it through. I have about 15 pounds left before reaching my goal weight. The best part is that I have figured out how to keep it off and continue to get into better shape without pills, “diets”, and expensive exercise equipment.
I took my determination and set out on an adventure that was going to change my life forever. I was going to find a way to fit into smaller pants, get healthier and increase my energy so I was not fatigued and filled with exhaustion to the point that I was not able to participate in life. (I was tired of feeling this way.) I knew the path I had chosen to follow would come with its terrain; there would be hills, bumps and many other obstacles for me to overcome; my determination would get me through.
My journey has been long and full of obstacles, but I have gained such knowledge and insight on proper nutrition, fitness and mindset. Along the way, I have also developed a passion of helping others find their lost energy, fitting into their smaller pants and becoming healthier by sharing my stories, advice, hints and tips. I just know that this is what I was meant to do and am so close to reaching my own goal weight that I am so excited to be sharing in your journey.
I have become a certified personal trainer, weight loss & fitness coach and have started up a weight loss workshop to help others find their success. My next step will be to become a certified coach. A friend once told me that you do not have to have a degree to be good at what you do. I truly believe this, and her saying that has made the world of difference in my success. I am ready to take on the world! (HEHE)
Using what I learned through my struggles, and not having access to a regular gym I created my very own home gym in a box. I want to give you a copy of my free report that explains how to create your own home gym in a box. Click here to download your copy today.
