DO IT FOR YOU!!!!!
Really?! If it’s that simple, why doesn’t it work for me? Do yourself a favor, ask yourself “Am I really wanting this and doing it for me?”
Think about it. We have many reasons for wanting to lose the weight; to look better, to be skinny, because society says I’m fat, it will make my husband/wife love me more, I am tired of being fat. These are all great reasons, but in truth they are for other people rather than for you.
Dig deep and make a list of all the reasons you want to lose the weight. Every little reason is significant, so write it down.
Next, I want you to highlight only the ones that are truly for you. (ex. “I want to get rid of medications.” “I want to be healthy.” “I want more energy.” “I want to participate in life.”) If they are to make you prettier, be loved by others, take care of others, they are not for you and you alone. Yes, they may build your confidence…but then your confidence would be the reason.
Yes, once you have more energy and are able to participate in life you will also be better able to take care of your family. The first has to happen for the second to happen. It’s all about cause and effect.
Once you have all your goals written and highlighted, hang them where you will see them every day. We forget about ourselves at times and this will be a great reminder.
