During Christmas time we think about giving to others. That is what continually goes through our mind: “What do I give to Richie?” “What should I get for Sue?” “I should give to Toys for Tots.” “Maybe I’ll drop some change in the can outside the store.”
These are all wonderful things to think about, but there is one thought missing…”What am I going to do or give myself this year.” This may sound a little selfish, but it is not. You are the most important person in your life. Without YOU, you cannot take care of your family and friends, you cannot give back to the world, and you cannot live your life.
This is why today I want to share with you the best gifts that you can give yourself this holiday season and all through out the year.
1. TIME
Give yourself 5-15 minutes daily just to be with yourself. Sit quietly and enjoy that cup of tea or the nature that God has provided you with. This will give you a chance to reconnect with yourself. You will be able to relax and just be. This, in my opinion, is the very most important gift that you can give yourself.
2. A TRIP
Take a trip anywhere, somewhere that is more than a necessity trip; however you considering it a necessity will do you some good. Go to the mall to just window shop, go to the park, or go for a drive. Get u
p and go somewhere that you enjoy by yourself. This will give you the chance to work toward learning about yourself. Sometimes where you end up might surprise you and give you a new perspective of yourself. Take the chance and enjoy living life!
3. EXERCISE
I know this one may sound strange to give as a gift, but hear me out. Exercise is what keeps yo alive and allows you the chance to do what you want to do. It rejuvenates you or allows you to de-stress after a long day, in the middle of the day, or in the morning. It allows you to
have a fresh start from the point you finish the workout until the end of the day. If you are finding this one hard to swallow, try just 5-10 minutes each day. It can be anything from a short walk to jumping rope, to playing tag with your kids.
I challenge you to pick one, or all of these gifts to give yourself
during the next week. Which one are you going to pick? Share in the comments below or email me.
